AI Directory 2026
149+ AI tools hands-on tested and organised by use case. Every listing has a Buy/Wait/Skip verdict — no scraped vendor copy.
The zPlatform AI directory is a curated catalog of 149+ AI tools tested in real workflows by Alston Antony. Every listing includes a Buy/Wait/Skip verdict, hands-on testing notes, vendor stability tracking, and pricing model. Browse by use case below or jump into the deep "Best AI for X" listicles for category-specific picks.
What Makes This AI Directory Different
Most AI directories aggregate vendor marketing pages — Futurepedia, There's An AI For That, and similar sites list thousands of tools without testing any of them. zPlatform is the opposite: smaller catalog, deeper testing. Every tool here has been used in a real workflow before being recommended. Tools that fail support-response tests or stop shipping updates are flagged or removed. The trade-off is clear: ~150 tools instead of 5,000, but every one of them is something someone actually used.
For specific buying scenarios, the directory routes to focused sub-hubs: AI lifetime deals for one-time-payment tools, free AI tools for genuinely-free tiers, discount deals for verified subscription savings, best AI tools for use-case-specific picks, AI tool reviews for in-depth single-tool teardowns.

How We Build the AI Directory
Every tool added to the directory goes through three checks before publishing:
- Hands-on testing. Alston Antony purchases or obtains review access, installs the tool, and runs it through 3–10 hours of real-workflow use. Output quality, claimed features vs delivered features, and integration smoothness are all documented.
- Vendor stability check. Three signals: company has been operating 18+ months, has paying customers outside the LTD/promo community, and core product is built and working (not a roadmap sale).
- Verdict assignment. Buy = we use it ourselves and recommend purchase. Wait = product fine but vendor or pricing concerns flagged. Skip = does not deliver what the marketing page promises, or vendor has red flags.
Tools that pass all three become directory listings. The verdict is reassessed quarterly or when a major product/pricing change happens.

AI Directory FAQ
What is an AI directory?
An AI directory is a curated catalog of AI tools, organised by use case, that helps buyers discover and compare options before purchasing or signing up. Most AI directories are listing-only — they aggregate vendor marketing pages without testing the tools. zPlatform is different: every AI tool in this directory has been hands-on tested by Alston Antony with a Buy/Wait/Skip verdict on each listing. We launched with 150+ tools and add new entries weekly.
How is the zPlatform AI directory different from Futurepedia or There's An AI For That?
Three differences. (1) Hands-on testing — every tool listed has been used in a real workflow before publishing. Futurepedia and TAAFT aggregate vendor descriptions without testing. (2) Verdicts — every tool gets a Buy/Wait/Skip rating with stated reasoning. (3) Vendor stability tracking — we flag tools whose vendors have stopped shipping updates or have failed support response tests. The trade-off: zPlatform has fewer tools (~150 vs Futurepedias 5,000+). The judgement we make: depth matters more than catalog size for buyers actually deciding what to use.
How many AI tools are in the directory?
Currently 149+ active AI tools across 9 use-case categories. Of those, 90 have a Buy verdict — meaning we have used them ourselves and would recommend purchase. New tools are added weekly. Tools that fail vendor-stability checks are removed or marked Skip.
Is the AI directory free to browse?
Yes — completely free. We do not charge for directory access, gate features behind sign-up, or require email collection to view tool details. Some affiliate links earn zPlatform a commission at no extra cost to you when you purchase via our links — affiliate status never affects the verdict or whether a tool is included.
How do I find the right AI tool for my use case?
Start with the category browser above (AI Writing, AI SEO, AI Design, etc.). Each category links to a "Best AI for X" deep listicle with our top picks for that use case. From there, drill into individual tool reviews for hands-on testing notes. If you are LTD-shopping specifically, see AI lifetime deals for one-time-payment tools or free AI tools for tools that are genuinely free.
Can I submit my AI tool to be listed in the directory?
Yes — vendors can submit tools via the submit AI tool page. Submissions go through the same hands-on testing process as any other listing. We do not accept paid placements; submission is free and tools are listed on merit. Average response time on submissions is 5 business days.
How often is the AI directory updated?
New tools are added weekly. Existing listings are reviewed quarterly for vendor stability, pricing changes, and feature updates. Tools that fail vendor-stability checks (no support response within 48 hours, no product updates in 6+ months, sudden pricing changes) are flagged with updated verdicts. The directory is intended to reflect what is buyable today, not what was good 12 months ago.
Why does the directory have a small catalog compared to other AI directories?
Deliberate trade-off. Futurepedia, TAAFT, and other large directories aggregate vendor marketing copy without testing — they list 5,000+ tools because they do not need to verify any of them. zPlatform tests every listing, which caps catalog size at what one team can genuinely cover. The buyer-side benefit: every tool you find here has been used by someone before being recommended. The trade-off: if a niche AI tool exists that we have not covered yet, you wont find it on zPlatform.
Does the directory cover free AI tools, paid AI tools, or both?
Both. The directory includes free tools, lifetime-deal tools, and recurring-subscription tools. Each listing shows the pricing model and links to the underlying purchase or sign-up. Filter by use case or verdict above. For pricing-specific browsing: free AI tools, lifetime deals, discount deals.
