- Active installs are WordPress.org rounded ranges (e.g. "100,000+"), never exact figures, we never present them as precise, and we derive growth from download trends, not install-bucket changes.
- Ratings come from WordPress.org on a 0-100 scale; we always display them as X.X out of 5, never mixing scales.
- Download trend uses the median daily downloads of the last 30 days versus the prior 30, so a single release-day spike can't fake "growth". Low-volume plugins show no trend rather than a noisy number.
- Inclusion is automatic and transparent: we track every plugin whose WordPress.org title uses the word "AI" and that has at least 1,000 active installs, the plugins publicly positioning around AI, and refresh the list weekly so new entrants appear automatically. A short manual exclusion list removes obvious false matches, and categories are auto-assigned from each plugin's listing (hand-corrected for notable ones). We don't hand-pick winners; the ranking is driven by the data.

The Quality Score formula
The Quality Score (0-100) is a transparent weighted blend: 35% Maintenance (how recently it was updated and whether it is tested against the current WordPress version), 30% Rating Quality (the WordPress.org rating, adjusted so a handful of reviews can't outrank a battle-tested plugin), 15% Support (resolved-thread rate on WordPress.org), and 20% Security (whether it has known, unpatched vulnerabilities). Popularity (installs) is deliberately NOT part of the Quality Score.
