How Alston Researches & Writes AI Guides
Last updated August 2026
Every guide on this hub starts from primary sources, official documentation, or hands-on testing, not a rewritten search snippet. Claims about pricing, statistics, or capabilities link back to where they came from, and guides get revisited when the underlying facts change. When a guide points to a tool worth using, it links through to the relevant best AI tools roundups or the hands-on review of that tool.
The Research Process
- Start from primary sources. Official docs, vendor pricing pages, published research, or hands-on testing, not other blogs.
- Explain in plain language. Jargon gets defined the first time it's used, not assumed.
- Cite what can be checked. Statistics and claims link to their original source.
- Update when facts change. Pricing, model capabilities, and best practices move fast; the "Updated" date reflects the last real revision.
- Disclose affiliate links. Any tool mentioned with an affiliate link is marked, and the recommendation does not change because of it.
Disclosure
Some guides contain affiliate links, disclosed on every page (see the full affiliate disclosure). A tool being mentioned in a guide does not mean it paid for placement.
Corrections & Editorial Policy
When a fact changes or a reader flags an inaccuracy, the guide is corrected and its "Last updated" date changes. See the full editorial standards on the About page.
AI Guides FAQ
What kinds of AI guides does zPlatform publish?
The library covers plain-language explainers of how AI works, step-by-step prompt and workflow tutorials, best-of rankings, and practical AI career advice. Each guide is built to answer a real question from start to finish, with its sources cited so you can verify the claims.
How are these guides researched?
Each guide starts from primary sources, official documentation, vendor pricing pages, published research, or hands-on testing, not other blog posts. Statistics and claims link back to where they came from wherever possible.
How often are guides updated?
Guides are updated when pricing changes, a tool or model gains or loses a feature, or a reader points out an inaccuracy. The "Updated" date reflects the last real revision, not just the original publish date.
Can I suggest a topic for a new guide?
Yes. Use the Contact page to suggest a topic. Priority goes to questions readers are actively asking and gaps in existing coverage.
Which guides include a video?
Some do. Any guide with a matching tutorial video shows a "Video" badge on its card. Not every written guide has a video yet.
Are the guides written by AI?
No. Alston researches and writes every guide himself. AI tools may assist with research the same way a search engine would, but the explanation, structure, and judgment calls are his own, not generated wholesale.
