Best Places to Launch Your AI Tool in 2026: Ranked by Traffic, Not Domain Rating

I ranked 9 AI tool launch platforms by live Ahrefs organic traffic on 2026-09-09. Domain Rating puts them in nearly the reverse order. Here is the list.

Published September 9, 2026

Launch your AI tool on Product Hunt and Peerlist first: they send 311,473 and 51,888 organic visitors a month against 48,792 for the other seven platforms on this list combined (Ahrefs, 2026-09-09). Nine launch boards clear my floor of 400 organic clicks a month. Domain Rating ranks them in nearly the reverse order, which is why I stopped ordering by DR.

In June 2026 I drafted a 37-platform version of this page and ranked every board on it by Domain Rating. I never published it. Pulling the traffic numbers is what killed it.

Domain Rating measures how many makers submitted, not how many readers arrive

Launch boards build their backlink profiles out of the products they list, and that’s the mechanism you need before you read anyone’s DR-ordered list of them. A free listing is usually conditional on installing a badge that links back. Every founder who launches donates a link.

Do that a thousand times and Domain Rating climbs into the seventies whether or not a single reader ever browses the site.

Smol Launch documents the trade openly. Its pricing page describes the free tier as earning “a verified listing by adding the Smol Launch badge to your site” (checked 2026-09-09). That isn’t a criticism of Smol Launch, which cleared every filter below. It’s just the clearest available statement of how all nine of these boards got their DR.

So a high DR tells you a board has collected a lot of maker links. It won’t tell you whether anyone finds your listing next March.

The four filters that produced this list

Four filters, applied in order, cut a starting set of 26 launch venues down to nine.

  1. Runs a dated launch with a public vote or queue. Products go live on a date and get ranked. Evergreen listing sites are directories, and they live on a different page.
  2. Has a browsable AI category. I loaded each category URL and confirmed a 200 response with AI products on it. If a reader browsing AI tools can’t reach your listing, the listing is decoration.
  3. Sends at least 400 organic clicks a month, measured with Ahrefs site-explorer-metrics in subdomains mode on 2026-09-09.
  4. Keeps the listing at a permanent URL once the launch window closes.

That 400-click floor is deliberately low. It isn’t an audience. It’s proof the board is indexed and read at all, and below it a listing is a backlink and nothing else.

zplatform.ai isn’t on this list either. We publish research and reviews and we take submissions at /submit-ai-tool/, but we don’t run dated launches with a public vote, so filter 1 disqualifies us exactly the way it disqualifies Futurepedia.

Who I left out, and why

LaunchIgniter is the entry that best explains the ordering problem. It carries DR 74 and sends 1 organic click a month (Ahrefs, 2026-09-09). Rank by Domain Rating and it finishes above four of the nine boards that actually qualified.

ScrollLaunch fails the same filter less dramatically: DR 69, 27 organic clicks a month (Ahrefs, 2026-09-09).

Show HN is the omission I’m least comfortable with, and it fails on filters 2 and 4 rather than on traffic. Hacker News has no browsable AI category, and a Show HN post is a thread, not a permanent product page. Launch there anyway if your tool is developer-facing. It just can’t be ranked on the same axis as a board with category pages.

Hugging Face Spaces fails filter 1. No launch date, no vote, so a Space is a hosting and demo surface rather than a launch.

There’s An AI For That and Futurepedia also fail filter 1. Both are directories, where a paid listing sits in a category forever and no launch event happens, and both are covered with their own traffic numbers in the AI directories audit.

Reddit fails filters 1 and 4, and most of its outbound links are nofollow. AppSumo fails filter 1, because a lifetime deal is a revenue event.

Domain Rating and organic traffic both come from Ahrefs on 2026-09-09, subdomains mode.

Read the two number columns against each other and the argument makes itself. Dev Hunt sits at DR 63 and sends twenty times the traffic of Fazier at DR 83. Product Hunt sends more than three times the other eight boards combined, so if you only launch once, that’s where you launch.

Peerlist is the one most AI founders underrate. Its launch surface sits inside a professional network for developers, which makes the 51,888 monthly visitors disproportionately technical, and for a tool with an API that’s the highest-quality traffic on this page. Its Launchpad runs in numbered weeks, and the week I captured below opened with an AI API gateway at #1.

Three of the six smaller boards sell a slot above the voted list

TinyLaunch, Fazier and MicroLaunch all place a paid or featured placement above the community-voted ranking, which is worth knowing before you pay for one. BetaList and Dev Hunt do not.

Smol Launch, the full-week board

Smol Launch runs one board a week and keeps your product on the front page for all seven days instead of a single 24-hour cycle. At 414 organic clicks a month (Ahrefs, 2026-09-09) it’s the smallest site here, and that’s worth stating plainly rather than dressing up.

Three things earn it the ninth slot rather than a place in the left-out section.

Its AI & ML category is a real browsable page at smollaunch.com/categories/ai-ml, which returned HTTP 200 on 2026-09-09 listing 362 AI and ML products ranked by community votes.

Its outbound listing link is genuinely followed: on a live product page that same day, the Visit Website anchor carried rel="noopener noreferrer" with no nofollow, while the paid advertisement slots on the same page were correctly marked sponsored nofollow. And the seven-day window is the only structural difference between any two boards on this page.

The free tier is badge-gated and queued. On 2026-09-09 the pricing page showed the next free week as Sep 28 with 100 products ahead in a 50-slot week, so a free launch was about three weeks out. Premium at $19 a launch drops both the badge and the queue (smollaunch.com pricing page, checked 2026-09-09).

The one I would start with

Product Hunt, if you can get fifty people to show up on a day you choose.

That single condition decides the whole plan. Product Hunt converts an audience you already have, and it does very little for a tool arriving cold.

If you can’t mobilise fifty people, invert it and buy time instead of intensity. A week on the front page of a small board reaches more people than four hours on the front page of a large one, which makes Smol Launch and Uneed the better opening move. Launch on Product Hunt second, once the votes and the first reviews exist.

Then stop. Nine launches is a week of admin and one backlink profile, not a distribution strategy, and the listings that still send visitors in six months are a different job: the 29 AI directories that survived my traffic audit.
