DreamFort at a glance

FieldDetail
ToolDreamFort, a private AI app from OpenGradient, the company formerly called Vanna Labs
CategoryPrivate AI suite: chat, image generation and video generation in one app
Best forPeople who want several chat, image and video models behind one credit balance and do not want their prompts tied to a profile
Free planFree credits at sign-up, then pay as you go. The homepage does not state how many credits.
Paid planSubscriptions or credit packs. Prices were not shown on the pages I read, so none are quoted here.
VerdictWorth a free-credit trial if the privacy model is your reason to look. Treat the privacy design as the vendor’s claim until you have read the technical write-ups yourself.

What DreamFort is, and what this review is based on

DreamFort is the consumer app from OpenGradient, a blockchain and verifiable-AI company that used to trade as Vanna Labs. The old vannalabs.ai address now redirects to opengradient.ai, and OpenGradient lists DreamFort among its products as private chat infrastructure for AI. The homepage says more than 100,000 people use it.

DreamFort homepage with the headline Unrestricted AI models, in complete privacy

The homepage leads with privacy and a one-box image studio, and promises free credits to start.

I did not run a hands-on test for this review. It is built from DreamFort’s own homepage and the app’s Google Play listing, both read on 2026-10-28, plus OpenGradient’s product page. Where a claim is the vendor’s, the text says so. A paid featured listing on zPlatform came with this review, and the verdict below is mine.

How the privacy design works

The pitch is that what you ask is never tied to who you are. The Google Play listing spells out four mechanisms:

  • Encryption on your device. Requests are encrypted before they leave your phone.
  • Relays. They travel through Oblivious HTTP relays that separate who you are from what you ask.
  • A secure enclave. They are processed inside a trusted execution environment, so the model is not told your name, email or IP address.
  • Local history. Chat history is stored on your device, not on DreamFort’s servers.

These are all vendor statements. I found no independent audit of them, so the sensible reading is “a specific, checkable design” rather than “proven”. If you put sensitive material into AI chats, a vendor that gives you named mechanisms is a better start than one that only says it takes privacy seriously. For a comparison with a different approach to the same worry, see our Proton Lumo review.

What you can make

DreamFort is three tools behind the same layer, according to its homepage:

  • Chat. Several frontier models in one place, with switching mid-conversation, voice input, photo and file attachments and read-aloud answers.
  • Image and video studio. Text-to-video and image-to-video, upscaling and a movie editor for cutting clips together, plus image generation and editing. The homepage names Seedance, Kling and MiniMax for video and Nano Banana, GPT Image and Seedream for images.
  • ReCast. You add a photo and the app puts that person into a trending clip, with the original moves, camera and timing kept.

The site also describes some models as permissive, applying minimal filtering. That is a selling point for some users and a reason for care for others, because the same freedom covers what you should not generate. Use it within the law and within the rules of the model you choose.

DreamFort pricing

The homepage says you start free with credits included and then pay as you go, with no subscription required for generations. The Google Play listing mentions subscriptions and credit packs as in-app purchases. I did not see a price table, so I cannot tell you what a video costs. Run one short generation on the free credits and read the credit cost before you buy anything.

Who DreamFort suits, and who should look elsewhere

It suits people who:

  • want chat, images and video in one app instead of three subscriptions;
  • are comfortable paying per generation rather than monthly;
  • care about separating their identity from their prompts.

Look elsewhere if you need a published price list, a tool with an independent security audit, or a long-form video workflow, since the clip lengths and limits are for you to check in the app. Our guide to AI tools every developer should use and the best free AI tools list cover mainstream options.

Where DreamFort can fall short

  • Unverified privacy claims. The design is described in detail but not audited, as far as I could find.
  • Unclear pricing. Credit costs and pack prices are not on the pages I read.
  • A new brand on an older company. The Vanna Labs to OpenGradient change means older articles may use the old name.
  • Permissive models. Minimal filtering puts the responsibility on you.

Frequently asked questions

Is DreamFort free?

You get free credits at sign-up. After that you pay for credits or a subscription.

Who makes DreamFort?

OpenGradient, which was formerly called Vanna Labs. Its profile is on our DreamFort entry in the AI tools directory.

Is DreamFort private?

The vendor says requests are encrypted on your device, relayed so identity is separated from content, and processed in a secure enclave, with chat history kept on your device. I could not find an independent audit.

Is there a DreamFort app?

Yes. There is a web app and an Android app on Google Play. I did not check for an iPhone version.
