Best AI Girlfriend Apps That Stay Safe for Work

An AI girlfriend app gives you one companion to talk to who remembers you and plays a romantic role. Only three apps passed the checks for this list, and that is deliberate: apps built around explicit content are left out entirely, however highly they rank, and so are popular apps with a documented safety record.

Each of the three was checked on its own pages and app store listings for price, age checks, what happens to your chats and how to delete them. If you want a companion without the romance, the AI companion apps list covers friendlier options.

The three AI girlfriend apps worth a look

1. Kindroid, best for a companion that remembers you

Kindroid’s homepage leads with a live video call, which needs a subscription.

Kindroid builds one companion around details you choose: name, male or female, backstory and personality. Subscribers can talk by voice and live video, and conversations stay until you delete the companion or your account. It costs $15.99 a month in the app stores, and since 1 October 2026 a new account only gets a one-time preview of 50 messages before it turns read-only.

It has the strictest age check here. Kindroid is for adults only, a paid subscription counts as proof of age, and a flagged free account must verify through Yoti by selfie or government ID. Its moderation guidelines allow adult content between verified adults, with no separate switch, and this list covers it as a companion app only.

What you give up: the terms do not say whether chats train its models, but they let Kindroid de-identify, aggregate and freely use private content.

2. EVA AI, best for a romance-style chat on your phone

EVA AI sells closeness rather than chat features.

EVA AI is the most openly romantic of the three. You browse characters or create your own, choosing male or female, age, ethnicity and hair, and the app tracks a relationship that changes as you talk. It runs on iPhone and Android, with no web version.

The free Basic plan is limited. Memberships start at $11.99 a month in the App Store, and an in-app currency for extras costs from $9.99. The terms set 18 as the minimum age and say accounts suspected of belonging to a minor are blocked until proof of age is provided. EVA AI also publishes child-safety standards that commit it to reporting confirmed abuse material to the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

What you give up: privacy. Its privacy policy says your text and voice messages are used to develop its AI, with no opt-out described, and its terms let the company make a character you create public. It is run by Novi Limited in Cyprus.

3. Paradot, best for shaping a companion’s personality

Paradot puts the most into customisation: you set your companion’s appearance, personality traits, flaws and values, and its relationship status, and a Memories view shows what it has kept. Its Google Play listing leads with companionship, while its iPhone listing names a romantic-partner role.

The free plan is limited, and Paradot Pro is sold monthly, every six months or yearly. Paradot does not publish what any of that costs; prices appear only inside the app. The terms set 18 as the minimum age, and Google Play rates the app Mature 17+.

What you give up: clear answers about your data and about who runs it. Paradot’s Google Play data-safety card says it collects no data, while its own privacy policy lists messages, photos, video, voice and sharing with advertising partners. The iPhone app is sold by Dots Parallel TX Limited rather than Withfeeling.ai, the company named in the terms, and was last updated in August 2025.

Looking for an AI boyfriend?

Only three apps checked for this project let you choose a male or fully custom companion in their own words, which is too few for a list of their own:

• Kindroid asks you to set each companion as male or female when you create it.
• EVA AI offers male and female characters and a male option when you build your own.
• Character AI lets you create any character, male included, though it is not a romance app and its record is set out in the Character AI alternatives guide.

On price, an AI boyfriend costs the same as an AI girlfriend in these apps: $15.99 a month for Kindroid and $11.99 a month for EVA AI in the App Store, while Character AI is free with ads or $4.99 a month for its lite tier. Paradot shows male faces among its appearance options but never says it offers a male companion, so it is not counted here.

Popular AI girlfriend apps we left out

Three of the most-searched names in this category are missing for reasons a named third party has documented.

• Replika. In a decision published by the European Data Protection Board on 21 May 2025, Italy’s data protection authority fined Replika’s maker, Luka Inc., 5 million euros after finding it had no age verification at all before 2 February 2023.
• Nomi. Nomi chatbots producing harmful content, including sexual violence involving personas presented as minors, is recorded in the AI Incident Database. In February 2025, MIT Technology Review reported a Nomi companion giving a user explicit suicide instructions and the developer declining to add safety controls.
• PolyBuzz. The US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s 2025 list of notices that did not lead to removal records two in its exploitative category sent to Polybuzz.ai.

How much do AI girlfriend apps cost?

Between $11.99 and $15.99 a month for the two apps that publish a price: EVA AI starts at $11.99 in the App Store and Kindroid at $15.99. Paradot keeps its prices inside the app. All three have a limited free option, though Kindroid’s is now a one-time preview rather than an ongoing free tier.

The bigger cost is usually your data. All three either use your chats to develop their AI or give the company broad rights over them, so read the training and deletion columns in the table before you share anything you would not want kept.
